Frequently Asked Questions -
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup procedure that allows reconstructing eyebrows fully. It is possible to achieve the most natural finish or bolder looking eyebrows. Microblading is performed by manual deposit of pigment under the epidermal layer of the skin by a hand held manual tool to imitate the look of natural hair.
What should I expect prior to my procedure? What should i do before hand to prepare?
Before the procedure, we send our clients Pre & Post care instructions along with information on what to expect. In order to achieve the best results, it is IMPORTANT to follow your pre and post care instructions. Some of our recommendations include:

-
No facials for two weeks before or after your microblading procedure
-
No blood thinners the night before or the day of procedure
-
No caffeine, alcohol or pre-workouts the night before or the day of procedure
-
No brow waxing two weeks before procedure
-
No tanning before procedure

What should I expect after my procedure? what is my after care protocol?
Detailed Post care instructions are sent home with clients after the procedure, the area of service will appear darker than what it is intended to look like, some swelling may occur and some redness may show depending on the client's skin, however, this will subside in a few hours. Each client is sent home with post care instructions as well as an after kit that includes everything you need for proper healing. Please be advised that the outcome of your brows depend on how well you follow your post care instructions.
Do you offer free consultations? Can you explain more about the consultation process and what goes into this
Yes, we offer free consultations. Our consultation starts with completion of a confidential client and consent and intake form. When a client comes in for either a consult or an initial appointment, we discuss the client's goals including what they want to achieve. We go over what to expect during the procedure, we also go over different possible outcomes depending on their skin types and desired look. Our consultations are listening sessions where we listen to each of our client's wants and needs to administer the best look. It is recommended, that you allow your eyebrows to grow in as much as possible once your appointment is booked.
How long is the procedures?
The first session should take about 3 hours including the consultation. During the consultation, we will draw the shape of your brows using the Golden ration to achieve the perfect symmetry. After mapping out the brows we will pick the pigment color to best match the client's natural brows hair color. The procedure starts only when the client has approved the shape and color.

The second session (Touch-Up) is scheduled about 6-8 weeks after the initial session. It will take approximatly 2-3 hours to complete. This session is required to ensure perfection, during your touch up we will go over your brows once more to fine tune the design and ensure that the pigments are set properly into the skin. Then you will be all good to go with your gorgeous new brows. The majority of clients brows will be completed by the second session, however, in some cases an additional sessions may be needed to complete the procedure due to certain skin types (typically oily skin) or lifestyle (sun exposure) , in such case a small fee will apply.

Skin type, life style, and how well you take care of your brows will effect how long they will last, factors such as sun exposure , swimming, products that contain AHA's, exfoliating treatments, and medication/illness can affect the fading of your tattoo. We suggest clients have a refresh treatment (Touch up) at least every 12 months to keep color and shape looking its best.

*****However, no guarantees are offered or implied in regards to how long it will last before you need to have your refresh appointment. Skin is unpredictable and there are many factors that affect your retention*****
Is touch up necessary? Can I get my touch up sooner than 6 weeks?
Yes! A touch up session 6-8 weeks is necessary as everyone heals differently and the outcome varies. Certain strokes may not pick up during first session and will need to be filled. Pigment color may also need to be adjusted, brow thickness and strokes can be added. Touch up is to ensure perfection of your brows.

Touch up session should not be done any sooner than 6 weeks after initial session to ensure that the skin is fully healed and the pigments have fully surfaced; most important, this will prevent scar tissue damage and this allows the skin to completely heal.
Is Microblading painful?
The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Prior to the procedure a topical anesthetic will be used to numb the area and reapplied during the procedure. Everyone responds differently to anesthetic; depending on the client's pain tolerance. Topical anesthetic used may contain lidocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine.

Please let us know if you are allergic to any of these ingredients.
I have previous eyebrow tattoo, am I a good candidate for Microblading?
If you have previous microblading by another artist, you MUST be approved before you can be seen! Please send a current clear photo of your eyebrows, please remove all makeup and do not use a filter, please also send details of how many times you have had them done and the date of your last procedure . Depending on the state of your current tattoo, you may require color correction/tattoo removal before you are a candidate for further procedures.

****Please note that previous work by other artists/technicians elsewhere will be considered a new session****
Is Microblading right for me?
Lots of people are learning about Microblading and are interested in this service, this is a great service for clients that have over plucked their brows, clients with alopecia, uneven hair growth on brows, or clients that want a more defined shape, however not everyone is a candidate for this procedure: The following is a questionnaire for potential clients.

-
Do you have a predisposition to Keloid scarring? Keloid scarring is a disqualification. The last thing you want is keloid scarring on your brows.
-
Do you have eczema/dermatitis? If so, where on the body? Eczema is a disqualification to Microblading due to the irritation Microblading causes in the skin. It can create redness that lasts years. If there is a presence of eczema or dermatitis on the face, we cannot perform the Microblading service.
-
Do you have alopecia? This is not a disqualification. We ask that we be made aware before treatment
-
Are you a diabetic? We ask this because people who are diabetic typically have slower healing time, and mat need a third touch up due to poor pigment retention. If you are diabetic, we require a note from your doctor, approving the service. If you are diabetic and you have obtained an approval letter form your Physician, great! We can perform the service as long as you are aware that the healing time may be longer and the pigment many not hold as well.
-
Do you have oily skin? Oily skin typically has poor retention and fades more quickly. The strokes may fade into each other creating the look of ""Powder Brows". If you want your brows Microbladed, but have very oily skin, please consider these facts prior to booking. The hair strokes will not heal as sharply as may want, you may be a better candidate for "Powder Brows".
-
Do you have any diagnosed skin disorders? If so, please email which ones and we can decide your candidacy on a case-by-case basis.
-
Do you have any moles in the brow area? We cannot Microblade ON a mole, but we can work around a mole.
-
Do you Tan or Exercise frequently? Tanning beds (the sun in general) are/is terrible for permanent makeup. The retention becomes very poor and you will need an annual touch up much sooner. The same goes for exercise, the sweat causes the pigment to fade faster. You must protect your new beautiful brows from the sun and tanning beds. Sunscreen and Hats are recommended.
-
Please email a list of any prescribed medication you are currently taking; some medications do not mix well with the Microblading service. It is always better to be safe than sorry! Please provide an accurate list.
-
Have you had Botox within the last 3 weeks? Please allow at least 3 weeks form the last Botox injection to the time you get your brows done, and 3 weeks after your Microblading treatment before your next injection.
